What will it mean to be the W-Icon?
The ultimate W-Icon will introduce a series of online ‘How To’ films aimed to spread the expert knowledge of the WI and inspire people across the country to learn new skills, whatever their age or ability. The video guides will provide easy solutions and tips on a range of subjects including being greener in the kitchen and garden, awakening your creativity, to making the most of the internet and even family life and personal health!
In addition, the W-Icon will also win the opportunity to donate £10,000 to a community based project of their choice. This project could be anything from inspiring a local school with lessons on how to paint, to creating a vegetable garden for a local community centre.
By combining Sky’s experience of providing broadband internet services with the WI’s heritage in keeping basic skills alive in households all over the country, we hope that both the search for the W-Icon and the ‘How To’ guides will be genuinely useful and inspirational.
